A Content Management System (CMS) is an online publishing tool that allows users to create, edit and publish online content without the use of development tools or knowledge of HTML.

CMS allow for independent publishers to share their own content without extensive knowledge of programming and other features.

Web Development Platforms

  • Wordpress - The most popular website builder for blogs and websites.

  • Wix - A simple and modern website builder with developer features.

  • Webflow - A modern no-code website builder for more advanced users. 


Dedicated Content Management Systems

These are platforms which refer their platform as CMS products. However, as stated above, any product which manages online content can be a CMS. 

  • Wordpress - The most popular website builder for blogs and websites.

  • Drupal - Open source CMS.

  • Joomla - Free and open source CMS.
